This is a commando course, in fact Special Forces could train on this course.  I was NOT happy with my time but was happy with my effort. I attacked all the hills with as much as I could but because of my asthma I would walk a bit to regain my breathing.

Hopfully this work out will help me in the Canyonlands race next Saturday.

Brent and I had a couples deep tissue massage this afternoon and I think it really helped.

Sammy and me ran south on the parkway one and a half miles with a freezeing cold wind from the northwest it made my face burn. I then ran north on the parkway another mile and a half. My legs were tired from the first stride but I knew after I warmed up It would be OK but no I was tired the whole way oh well I got it done.

Hope this isn't how the race will be Saturday.

Ran south on the Parkway one and a half miles with Sammy. Besides being cold my knee is still popping and now my hip hurts every stride. I hope I'll be able to run ok Saturday. I stoped at three hoping to not make things worse.

So I ran pretty good for being injured I feel like I'll never run injury free (big sigh). Before the race Brent and I walked up the trail behind the porta poties boy they smell. When we met up with Bethany and Paul it was so fun to meet buddies from blog they are really nice. Then Brent had to go.. and there was big long lines at porta poties so we ran up towards the start to one lone potie with no line. Then we waited a while for the start it was nice to have Brent to talk to usually he runs the half.

First mile ran good, felt relativly pain free and kept Brent in sight which means I'm doing ok for me. About 7:50 pace.

Second mile the hill did in my breathing which was the bigest problem for me this time. Pace 8:30.

Third mile I had to walk awile to use my quick acting inhaler (you have to hold your breath for 10 seconds, if I'm breathing hard I can't hold my breath that long). I didn't look at my watch again so I don't know my pace.

Forth mile my breathing was a little better tried to pick it up. So glad to turn that corner and see the water stop. Took a cup then since I could catch my breath I used my inhaler again, I wonder if some sort of pollen was out down there to cause my bad asthma.

Finally I saw the finish and also saw Brent I was so happy to see both!

Sunny cold day just looking outside it looks warm don't be fooled. I ran a mile and a half south on the parkway with sammy when I droped her off I put on a headband and gloves burrrr. Then I ran a mile and a half north on the parkway. I did see three other runners with their dogs.

I want to thank the bloggers for their great comments on the Canyonlands race. I haven't run hardly at all since then because of sciatica, my right leg problems (hamstring, knee, and achillis) turned into sciatica I couldn't hardly sit all the way home from Moab. So I've been streching and doing core exersices. This is the first run in five days I stoped about every quarter mile to strech I do have some pain but not unbearable.

bye now

What a beautiful day!! I ran north three miles on the parkway, pushed hard on all the hills, passed three runners as fast as I could. I have only a little pain but I'm going to up my miles slowly.

bye bye

The Barney pack ran south on the parkway mile and a half then we droped Sammy off. and ran another two and half north on the park way. Both Brent and I are injured so we stopped frequently to stretch. We picked up our pace on hills and when we passed people like normal. I felt a little pain but all in all I think I'm getting better and it is finally SPRING! I ran in shorts!

bye bye

I ran 2.5 miles north on the parkway. I still have some discomfort from the sciatica but I think it is finally getting better.

There was a fire about a mile north of us yesterday, it burned a couple acers just where the foxes had their den for the last few years there is no way they will be able to use the den now its so bare. I feel bad about this loss.

bye bye

Well I've mixed up my days maybe because I've been taking hayfever and asthma pills? Brent and I ran two miles north into the cold wind then comming back it was nice. Pretty nice day with lots of runner on the parkway (passed some too).

Bye bye :)

I returned home from work early, then I took my weekly quiz (100%!) so I had no excuse to not run. Four miles north on the parkway it was sunny but cold wind was chilling even with layers.

More fire on the parkway I wonder who is setting them.

Bye bye :)

Waited till afternoon to run hopeing for warmer temp. but it was a chilly out like a lion March 31st. I ran north three miles and saw birds of prey, daffy love ducks and geese.

Im looking forward to getting out of town, not so much to the Striders race. I'll be useing it to train for the Salt Lake Half but I still would like to run well.

Bye bye :)
