Ran four miles north on parkway, I was still tired from the flight home from Hawaii so my legs felt 100 pounds each. I did my bootcamp upper body exercices three sets of each. at least by next week I shoud be recovered.

Three miles with my running partner Sammy thou she was slowing me down today, minus 10 commado points for her. Finally I ran two and half out on the MPW[Murray Parkway]. Beautiful day, wish this perfect weather would stick around all winter. Counted 14 runners out on the trail and twice that on bikes must be the weather. Three sets of upper body exercises and yoga stretches along the way.

Me and Sammy need go on a diet, we can't keep up with Sylvie. I jealous, lets see, running in the dark or on a beautiful day. Who is going to keep track of Sammy's commando points, she got 20 last saturday for picking up the pace on the hills, on her own.

From heather on Sun, Nov 04, 2007 at 21:34:38

What are your upper body exercises? I need to start resistance or weight training again, but I'm lazy about going to the gym!

Ran with Brent and Sammy three miles felt great beautiful day, then took Sammy home and Ran four with Brent. Brent got a kick out of passing other runners I find it gives me motivation to run better and faster and I do like to chic those men.

It was a beautiful day just the right temp no wind to speak of, the sun streaming through the golden leaves is uplifting but feable. Sammy was not really fun to run with today so we turned around at one mile, then Brent and I ran five with some pick ups.  Brent usually doesn't really like to stop and wait while I do my boot camp exercises; three sets each; I also do some yoga stretches. Probably because he didn't feel well today he didn't even say a word about it.

I agree, this is absolutely amazing weather! It has made it much easier for me to get back in the swing of things with running! I hope we can have a nice winter along with this, with lots of white stuff mostly in the mountains. But keep the negative degrees out! That was crazy last year! I don't have a gym membership this year, nor do I have a treadmill. So I am hoping for the best!

From Michelle on Thu, Nov 08, 2007 at 21:17:26

I think your right on the money with that assesment!

It was nice to meet you after the race. I didnt really like the race that much as i dont care for out and back races, but at least it was good running temps and for me just a 5 minute drive. Hope you getalot of good fall running in with Brent and Sammy. My Golden Retriever "denali" runs with me at times

When I got up this morning and looked out my windows I saw fog not much else. We live practacally on the Jordan Parkway I think the mist off the river came up to haunt us weeks late for Halloween. Thankfully it disapeared by the time we ran our Veterans Day run, thats fitting because Brents' a veteran. Sammy went three today and was a real trooper, droped her of and ran seven more north on the parkway lovely to see all the regular people and dogs out on a beautiful fall day.

Sylvie, no more animals, Jazzman already drives us nuts at times. I'm jealous, run in pitch dark, or run in the beautiful fall sun light. Time to crank up the training, we are signed up for 8 races next year already. Always training for the George. Do you want me to coach you? Ha, Ha, you do better on your own.

When I started my run it was sunny windy and 48 degrees, as Sammy and I ran south a stray basset hound puppy almost grown came from behind and goosed Sammy.  She lit out and nearly pulled my arm off the basset hound then kept running around us, I thought we would have to bare the harrasment the rest of the run but just then a man with two dogs going the other direction caught the interest of the basset hound, he happily followed them.

We ran on with only the wind harrasing us. Almost to the turn aound point at 7100 so. we saw Olaf, an old running friend, stopped and talked to him about the Disney World Marathon three weeks from Sunday.  He is taking his family on vacation and running the marathon.  We have run it twice, nice to see a old friend.  The weather turned from good to terrible, I had run into the wind the whole way south and now going north the wind pelted me with first rain, then miserable sleet! So Sammy and I raced home just barly missing the hale.  Sammy was so proud of herself when we got home, she loves running in crummy weather.

From Brent on Thu, Dec 20, 2007 at 20:53:18

Sylvie, 20 commando points for you and Sammy. Sammy gets 5 extra for showmanship when she got home. She smiled for 15 minutes walking like all that, proud to be soaking wet.

Did you tell Olaf to take everything from his speedo to north pole gear for the Florida vacation. The coldest marathon we ever ran was Disney World, standing around for 2 hours before the race in 25 degree weather with no heat and the day before was 75, go figure.

Oh what a beautiful morning sun shining with not so beautiful ice and lots of snow. We ran south on plowed parkway yea! Lots of ducks and Canadian Geese honking and quacking and the rest of the birds sitting on the tree branches all puffed up against the cold about 22 degrees. Droped Sammy off and we were off north on the parkway there were lots of runners from team in training we were slightly tempted to drink their power aid of course we didn't.

I was unnaturaly tired after our run so took a quick nap. all the extra work and worry from Christmas must be tacking it's toll.
