Pretty nice day I think it is probably the warmest day this year. We had fun talking to some of our fellow blogers before the start. I think we have the nicest people around on our blog.

Brent and me ran a mile and a little to warm up. The start went off without a hitch, I felt pretty good the first mile 8:15 pace. In the second mile I began to feel the pain in my hamstring begin, by mile five I could't reach a full stride without pain. So I had to slow down to a bearible speed.

It was fun before and after but I could have done without the hamstring pain. Kim I hope the picture turned out good.

It was great talking to you and Brent today! Way to hang in there and finish well despite the hamsting injury. Hope you can get that under control. We'll try to see if we can get the pics posted soon!

Great job Sylvie! It was so fun to cheer you on today! So fun to meet you and get to know you better! Not sure we'll be coming out to the 15K in a few weeks, but good luck to you!

I hope that hammy gets better, take care of it. Good to see you again.

From Brent on Sat, Feb 09, 2008 at 21:14:48

Sylvie, nice race, effort is what counts, your times will drop like a rock when the hammy gets better and we move to warmer weather. I know you have the speed, how many darn times you have chicked doing fartlek. It was a fun day.

Goooo Sylvie! Great job finishing with a hamstring that was not cooperative. You did the right thing to take care of it! Have you read MarcieJ's Blog? She had EXCELLENT results with some deep tissue massage. Might want to check into it before the racing season really kicks in.

Have you really chicked Brent on fartleks?! That is just darn amazing!

From MarcieJ on Sat, Feb 09, 2008 at 23:46:15

Yah Sylvie, I have been having issues with my hamstring on and off for awhile now. I got a deep tissue massage today by someone that specifically does just deep tissue. I had some very deep knots that had been brewing for sometime. I already feel lots better. Josse on the blog is very skilled at it, you might want to check into going to see her if you dont already know someone.

Great job on the race! Good time! Sorry that hamstring was acting up! Sounds like you came in right around Paula's time? Sounds like fun with the bloggers today!

From Sylvie on Sun, Feb 10, 2008 at 17:27:35

Thanks everyone for your suport and sugestions! I think I will look into deep tissue massage, I've had them before and they did help. It is hard when you feel like you are in better shape than your time shows. Thanks again!

Way to grind it out to the end despite the hamstring issues. I hope it gets feeling better!
